No one seems to know how Sailor got his nickname. It might have come from the fact that he was a Competition Jumper who "Sailed" over the fences. At one time considered a Top Competitor in Canada, he suffered a career ending injury when he bowed a tendon in his front leg. The injury was so severe it caused additional ligament and tendon damage in his other front leg during recovery.

That was several years ago. Since then he spent time at a cattle ranch where he acquired the amazing hole in his ear and thankfully ended up with a trainer in Gilroy who finally gave him the time and care he needed to heal. She gave him to us.

While Sailor will never be completely sound again, with special care he can live a full and useful life. He has currently been adopted by a wonderful woman who loves him and takes great care of him.
