This Program is one of the most important and rewarding Dreamor Ranch has to offer....
The horses we accept are all wonderful creatures who need good homes for varying reasons. Sometimes a situation has changed and their owners don't want to chance selling them (for fear of them going to a meat auction), or is an older horse who still has valuable time and skills to offer, or the horse has been injured and simply needs time to heal (with a good prognosis), or perhaps has already healed and has special needs. Many are actually rescued from neglect or abusive situations.
Whatever the reason, we investigate each and every situation as to the future “place-ability” of the horse. Dreamor Ranch is not a sanctuary. We almost never keep the horses that come to us. Instead we adopt each one out on a lifetime lease to qualified loving homes. While there is a small adoption fee (to help cover costs), it is sometimes waived if the former owner has paid it. All adoptive homes are researched and a contract is signed before any horse ever leaves the ranch. Once placed into a home, our adoptive horses cannot ever be sold.
If their owners cannot keep them, they simply will come back to the ranch to be placed somewhere else.
This way, no horse will ever end up at a meat auction. While we can't possibly take them all, and often times have to turn them down due to extreme injury or condition, we take - and place - as many as we can.
Whatever the reason, once accepted into our program we take each one on as a lifetime project. NO horse will ever end up at an auction or be in a bad situation again. Interested in our program?
